Actually, I’m thinking if I ever get brave enough to tackle a fight scene, this would be a great technique for Mr. Smithe.
Plus, there’s something inherently hilarious about a dapper Victorian gent crouching in an elaborate fighting stance. In addition to a cane, you also needed a bad ass ‘stache for Bartitsu, as is evident in the center photo. Look at that monster. That bad boy could take down a scalawag on its own!
